Why Do I Need a Portfolio?

Portfolio Do's:
Do: Include a variety of items showing relevant skills and products.

Copies of newsletters you wrote for or edited.

Press kits - mark which items you initiated, wrote or designed.

Published articles and op-eds.

Brochures with your copy or design work.

Web pages featuring your work.

Reports you produced.
Portfolio Don'ts:
Don't: Show samples but not how they were used or their results.

If you include a press release or pitch letter, also include clips it generated or a report showing its use on radio stations, etc.

Lists and details outlining the organization of a special event should be accompanied by reports showing the results.
